This is a companion way on an Erikson 32. As you can see the wood is in pretty bad shape. I stripped it with a scraper and a heat gun, then lots of sanding. After prep work is done it’s time to begin coating. First coats are done with cetol thinned with mineral spirits so it soaks into the wood. Then coat after coat of cetol and gloss at the end. It’s a long tedious process but the final product makes it all worth it.
Ahhhh the final product. This is after 6 coats of cetol and gloss. I wet sanded in between coats to give it a real smooth finish.
